I hate exercise! What I mean is, I hate STRUCTURED exercise.  I love living an active lifestyle but have never been able to follow a fitness plan for longer than a month; until I met Jessica. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’ve been consistently taking Pilates from her for over 2 years now! Jess always knows how to keep the class fun, exciting, and fresh! In the last 2 years I’ve seen a huge change in how I look, feel and live my life. I’ve just completed my first full year of training with Jessica at Core Fitness.  I have to admit that although I was thrilled to work with Jessica again (I had taken a class with her six years earlier) I didn’t expect to see dramatic changes. I had been doing a hardcore bootcamp for 2 years and felt I was strong, toned, and in shape.

After about a month at Core Fitness I noticed some changes. There was the beginnings of definition in my biceps, my shoulders were toning, and my quads/calves were getting hard. As time passed my body continued to change. Friends even commented on how toned my arms looked!
Eventually I added to my twice weekly bootcamp with Jessica and started doing Pilates once a week.  I absolutely believe in fitness, always have. I’m thankful for Core Fitness and Jessica. I’d give up Starbucks before I gave up Core Fitness!

I came to Jessica at Core Fitness a broken person; confused, unhappy, overwhelmed with the struggle of trying to be skinny. I didn’t just need Pilates; I needed a serious support system. I found what I needed and so much more when I met Jessica for the first time. She is a wealth of knowledge and has “walked the walk” herself, overcoming struggles similar to the battles I was facing. My love for Core Fitness goes far beyond the sweaty TRX workouts, or beautifully challenging and therapeutic Pilates classes; I fell in love with the people! The trainers and clients are friends; it is far more like a family meeting (with a workout) than just walking into a studio where you’re just a number and a membership fee.

Pilates has completely changed my body. My core is stronger than it has ever been; I learned how to isolate muscles through movement; I learned proper breathing and concentration techniques. As my training and goals have evolved, I have also found that Pilates has kept me injury free during my intense weight lifting workouts. Also, because my core is so strong I’ve found that my form is stronger than it would have been having not had this foundation.

Beyond the changes I’ve seen in my body, the Core Fitness staff, and especially Jessica, has made me a stronger person emotionally. She taught me how to set realistic goals, and also taught me to let go of the scale obsession… something I had struggled with for over 5 years. 2 years after joining the Core Fitness family I am a better and stronger person, emotionally and physically. Not many clients can say that about a typical gym… and Core Fitness is anything but typical.
